Depart for the Corinth Canal drive to Ancient Corinth Temple of Apollo, then to Acrocorinth for the Byzantine castle and after to MYCENAE you visit the archaeological site and the tomb of Agamemnon . After through ARGOS we proceed to Nafplia the first capital of modern Greece with its Venetian fortress of PALAMIDI and the fortified islet of BOURTZI. Here we can stop for lunch and then continue to EPIDAURUS and visit the ancient theater, world famous for it's outstanding acoustics. Finally, drive along the coastal road of Saronic Gulf we return back to Athens.

The original idea for making the canal was conceived by Periander the tyrant of Corinth back in 602 B.C. and the one that finally started the project in 1830 was Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first governor of Greece. This was after the liberation from the Ottoman Turks, and finished in 1893 after several stops and restarts. If you want and dare, you can try bungee jumping off this historical canal wall.
