Athens Extended Half Day Tour with a driver/guide
The Athens sightseeing tour starts at the ACROPOLIS hill and the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens the PROPYLAEA, the TEMPLE of ATHENA NIKE, the ERECHTHEION and finally, "the harmony between matter and spirit", the monument that "puts order in the mind", the PARTHENON and then the New Acropolis Museum. Afterwards, we will drive to the PANATHENAIC STADIUM (where the first Olympic Games of the modern era were held in 1896), the Temple of OLYMPIAN ZEUS and HADRIAN'S ARCH. Driving down Herod Atticus Str., you will see the Evzones in their picturesque uniform and the PRESIDENTIAL PALACE (ex. King Palace) The tour will give you the opportunity to observe the striking contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city. You will be able to see the city centre, CONSTITUTION SQUARE (Syntagma), the HOUSE OF PARLIAMENT, the MEMORIAL to the UNKNOWN SOLDIER and the NATIONAL LIBRARY. Afterwards, through modern Athens we could stop off at the Old Agora, Flea Market, PLAKA or Hermou Str. for a drink, traditional Greek food (Tavern) or wonderful shopping. We will also visit a lot of places like the Socrates Prison, Tower of Winds, Roman Agora, Kerameikos, Hefestus Temple etc. You will see a lot of places that 99% of visitors in Athens never visit.
