We, a couple and one single, totally three persons, really enjoyed a wonderful taxi tour set that includes traveling to Athens, Cap Sounion, Dephi, Kalampska and Metrora in Greece in Sep. 2011. What impressed us deeply is the taxi driver, named Christos Exarchopoulos, who I think is outstanding and professional for his 1) nice communication in English 2) stability and safety while driving his Mercedes-Benz car 3) manner with smiling, politeness and elegance 4) timing control even though working over time 5) human touch with friendliness.

Firstly my apologies for not emailing earlier but since returning home to Brisbane / Australia we have suffered jet lag and it has taken a while for things to get back to normal for us all.

Secondly Vassilios, we would all like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for your wonderful service from the moment you collected us upon our arrival at Athens Airport and arranging our transfer from Patras back to Athens on the 21st July. We were very comfortable and happy with your car transport and also for your concerns and assistance during our holiday in Greece. May we say Yiannis was a very pleasant and welcoming substitute and as you had mentioned he was a very good driver and we all had a comfortable and safe trip to Athens airport. We were sorry not to see you again, however in these times of crisis we understand how difficult things have been for everyone concerned.

Did you know you speak Greek? That was the greeting we received from our tour guide Vassilios Vassalos. If you visit Athens, you must try to see it under the expert tutelage of this congenial and fascinating gentleman. In fact, although armed with tour books and prerequisite trips to National Geographic and the History Channel, they were nothing compared to our guide, a classical modern Greek, steeped with history and current affairs and ready to share his pride for his country.

As we departed our cruise, we were met promptly by Vassilios, this "Athenian Ambassador" who escorted us to an immaculate, bright yellow Mercedes taxi and whisked us off to every important site, avoided traffic jams because of his calling ahead to his office for the best routes, told us stories, taught us history only a local could know, took us to a great place for lunch and left us with so many stories that we still laugh we when we reminisce.

If you want a whirlwind tour of Athens on a bus trip chasing after a tour guide with a number on a stick and listening to a canned narration on earphones, go ahead. However. If you want to see Athens through the eyes of the locals, contact Vassilios at www.athenstours.gr Tell him the dentist from NJ recommended him. You will not be sorry. BTW, the cost of a private tour is not much different from running after the tour guide with a number on a stick!

Today we joined Vassilis to tour Athens. The tour was very enjoyable with lots of information and visits to places where there were few other tourists! I booked with Vasilis for a day trip to Argolis for the 27th of June. The cab arrived at the nominated time and was very comfortable and very clean. For the rest of the day, Christos our driver, spared no effort to ensure every need and want was met. We felt we were with a friend we had known for a long time rather than somebody that we met on the day.

Vasilis and Christos we thank you for helping us make this day such a memorable one.

We booked two tours with athenstours in the beginning of June: one day trip before our cruise, one on the last day in Greece, after the cruise. During our first tour we discovered the main attractions of wonderful Athens, i.e. Acropolis, Panathenaic Stadium, Temple of the Olympian Zeus, and Corinth Canal at the Isthmus of Corinth, Ancient sites of Corinth. Our tour ended with a delicious Greek lunch in Old Corinth.
Our driver Vassilios was very courteous, friendly and answered all our questions patiently. He gave us a lot of information which we suppose a normal tourist won’t get. It was a wonderful and eventful day. This tour with Vassilios could not have been better, and is a must for everybody who wants to be guided by an authentic Athenian.
Our second tour led us along the coastline to Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon. Vassilios again gave us a lot of information and showed us different places (beaches, suburbs of Athens, residentials, viewing platform with a breathtaking view to the crystal-clear sea). We had a lot of fun and we can highly recommend Vassilios! The private tour was definitely worth every Euro!

In our trip we went to Corinth canal, ancient Corinth, Olympia, Delphi, and Meteora. Initially we talked to Vassilios about the tour. He was very helpful & cooperative during the entire planning. When we reached Greece, we were guided by George who gave us great service during the entire trip. He recommended great restaurants where we enjoyed traditional Greek food. He told us lots of history and facts about Greece and was extremely friendly. Overall we had a great trip and we are extremely pleased with the service provided by Vassilios & George both. We had a great drive to Cape Sounion. The tour was different from those organized by typical travel agents and we saw different parts of Greece. The driver/guide showed the famous Greek stuff and beautiful landscape.

I had a wonderful trip. It started out as a dreary day but your upbeat attitude, knowledge of the side roads and quick thinking made it quite enjoyable. The personal attention a private tour warranted, was great for someone who likes to go at her own pace without help up or being held up by others. The traffic was never bothersome as you kept up a constant report inserting when appropriate the history & area details of Athens.

Just wanted to let you know how pleased we were with all your arrangements. We were impressed how you so quickly got a second cab on our arrival at the airport in Athens. We were all extremely satisfied with our tour and lunch the next day. Our driver and guide could not have been more accommodating and friendly. They worked well as a team and even the next day when we decided to do a mini city tour with our same guide, the driver couldn't make it but he saw us that morning and helped our guide with a sight to see while waiting for the change of guard. What a wonderful day! I am so glad we took your advice and didn't do the Delphi trip. Corinth was interesting but Mycenae was one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.
